  1. Hi guys I had my timing belt done about 2 months ago and ever since it developed this strange weerrring Sound at idle and only when warmed up....... so today I’ve noticed that the wheerreing sound is gone but the car now sounds like it has a wine at around 1000rpm, could do with some help cheers Also I do have a video but don’t know how to attach it from an iPhone.

  2. Hers a link to the video

  3. who did belts ?

  4. Kwikfit, but let me say something before I took it there the car wasn’t making this wheeering sound on idle, but I’ve been hunting all over online and have found many others that sound just like mine with the wheeerrring sound, but today that wheeering sound isn’t noticeable but my car is making this sort of whining high pitched rev sound in lower rpms

  5. Have you no nice Reno independents nearby, there’s bit art to replacing dephaser pulley, plus should also have done water pump and cam washers

  6. Unfortunately the only Renault place that I know of is an actual Renault garage I’ve been quoted around £800 to get it all done there, but if I do take it there to get it done Kwikfit said that we would be able to give you a refund.... on top of that I did take it to a tuning specialist near me called gotboost the guy there has built loads of clios with Megane engines seems like he knows his renaults. and mentioned nothing of the dephaser pulley being faulty but do you think it’s the dephaser pulley???

  7. I’d take it to the Renault Specialist and get it checked. Wouldn’t trust Kwikfit to work on my push bike

  8. really need get to good reno indi, post up your location maybe ppl can find you someplace reputable, try keep clear folks dont really know whats involved in pulley, pump, belt on these even if involves bit of drive

  9. Here's complete list of items reputable reno company should fit (makes sense change oil as de-phaser works on oil pressure)

    cam belt & tensioner
    aux belt and tensioner
    water pump
    De-Phaser Pulley
    crank pulley bolt
    camshaft oil seal
coolant RX Type D 5 litres
    timing end float oil seal
    quality engine oil 5.5lts
    engine oil filter

  10. Honestly at this stage I’m fed up now can’t even enjoy the car anymore, it’s getting to the point where I’m willing to travel over the bridge just to get a proper job done! I’ve screen shotted that list so when I next see this guy at gotboost I’ll be sure to show him!

  11. Mine (MK3 265 CUP) does the same exact noise when reving at idle and when not reving it sounds like the video in this thread

    https://rsmegane.com/threads/noise-from-belt-area-at-idle.20407/

Due to the kind of siren noise, i´m a little bit worried that it might be the turbo, i´ve posted a video in a Facebook Group and i received comments that the sound is normal. I´ve just ordered a turbo cleaner from CRC i think theres also one from Wynns that supposedly gets rid of carbon deposits that the turbo may have inside.

Please let me know if you find out what it is.

    Cheers!

  12. Mines being very strange as of right now, you say yours makes both sounds at the same time. Mine seems to go from one to another when I have that whining sound my car doesn’t make that chirping noise at idle, but when it does that chirping noise at idle that whining sound goes away. But I really don’t know what it is. A guy in another thread about timing belts, said something about doing his crank pulley so I’m just waiting to see if anything happens once he gets it done.

  13. The coolant is that 5 litres mixed or neat ?

  14. That’s system capacity, the Reno stuff comes pre mixed but can make up own mixture if want

  15. I’ve just bought a 5 litre can from Renault. Wasn’t sure if I needed to dilute it or put it all in as it is.

  16. It’s good stuff that Reno anti freeze
