Hi, I have a set of drls, loom and ballasts to fit to my 250, took the left hand headlight out to find these two connectors, anyone know what they are for as they don't fit the drl loom, also is the connector for the drl further down, thanks Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Hi mate the connector in the first picture is the only one I can see down there, I bought the loom off a guy on here dosnt seem to be the right connector on the end of it, that's why id like a pic of the connector off someone who has the drls on their car, thanks for the reply Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
This is the one I can find it hangs down just beside where the drl goes Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
That loom defiantly came off a 250 with DRL's, And has the same connector as everyother DRL plug. Have you taken the PAX wheel arch liner out and looked behind it? IIRC you cant actually get to the DRL plug from the top
Yes mate def the right connector just need to find the loom plug will maybe dig deeper Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
just read through and see you want to fit DRL's will need to take bumper off for that, dosent vehicle already have DRL ??
No the vehicle does not have them, I have the ballasts drls and loom, there is 2 removable blanking plates were the drls go Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Surely the plug wouldn't be hiding in the bumper it would of been in and around the left side somewhere where I looked, thanks Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
H The oem LED driver (Power Supply) is mounted on the inside of the bumper itself very close to the headlamp washer jets. You will see a square unit mounted with 3 screws on the bumper
Is that the ballasts? I haven't them put into the car yet, the loom I have plugs into the ballasts and the other end is near to go into the car loom, there is no connector on the car loom for it though l, thanks Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
If you don’t have any plugs on either the bumper/crash bar or in the arch liner then You may have to make up a loom with a live feed from the headlight DRL. Looking through old threads it’s not plug and play. Least you’ll need is a multimeter and a little electrical knowledge.
So I suppose I could cut the plug off then and just tap into a live and ground, any links for the old threads, thanks Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
If you type megane 250 DRL retrofit into google they’ll come up bud. Let me know how you get on as I’m interested in fitting them to mine.
Thinking that the drls in the headlight wiring might work to power the ballasts need to check it out Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
The loom plugs through, Off memory you plug the car loom into the drl loom which then plugs back into the headlight Search some of my posts
Thought so, thing is I have no plug in my car to plug the drl loom into lol Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
I wonder if there is an extra mini loom for drl equipped cars, just a small one to connect between main loom and lights to provide that connector. I wish there was an easily accessible parts diagrams available online to check my theories!
Me too, there is very little info on these cars online, it's v frustrating Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
It's not obvious at first, took me a while to work it out (I'm a spark too!) My drl loom was plugged into itself, so it didn't make sense initially, memory is proper sketchy to how it works but it's something like this (was a few years ago) There is a multi plug underneath the headlight somewhere - male pugged into female connector, split this the you need to take out the headlight feed, plug it into that loom, then the plug your left with plugs back into the headlight Same for both sides Bumper off job really
http://rsmegane.com/threads/drls.9117/#post-110950 That's my old post, maybe there is another loom Some colour pin outs that may help
GUYS IF YOU CHECK www.catcar.info you can find all the loom diagram you need and part number for them too.
Gonna attempt this today, bumper off,and get a proper look, hope I get them running lol Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
