265 Xenon conversion

  1. Ok guys ive searched both forums and the internet and cannot find what I'm looking for so here goes, I recently purchased some xenon lights of a member on here, I fitted them and spliced into the lights with an error canceller, they all work fine (obviously no levelling) but I think I may have spliced into the wrong cables as now the blowers don't work until I have full beam on lol. I have spliced between the 7 pin plug black and purple and the 3 pin plug between red and black. Now I've been told by a forum member of whom I brought them off it is black and purple but as to where it splices back into loom I don't know social guessed at black and red of which must be wrong, so does anyone know where I splice into???? Thanks Rory

  4. Call Renault. They will give you advice and will not charge you for it.

  5. Have you put an OEM xenon or pnp Chinese shit kit??

If OEM go to Renault and let the reconfigure the car for xenon so it doesn't give error, or if Chinese than think twice what are you putting in your car. Error cancelers are like simple resistors, and they can be shorted out and damage the installation or in best case only blow aut a fuse.

  6. They are oem xenons but and canceller came from the UK not sure if it is cheap Chinese crap but is the one I got recommended the guy I brought the xenons off and he never had a problem, I've checked all fuses in engine bay and most in glovebox but all seem fine, I have cut a few cores when accidently splicing into red and black so maybe that's the reason?? Solder or through crimp maybe. As it's my fault I know renault will charge me so gonna get it looked at by my usual mechanic Saturday hopefully, the Mrs will just have to wipe the screen with a microfibre if it steams up this week, as she drives it all week.

  7. I really don't see why would buy a canceler (any sort of) when the xenon can be simply activated by can clip by renault. For same or less money. Quality cancelers are close to 50£ per bulb. I'm sure Renault wouldn't't charge as much. And maybe for the difference in the price you could buy the sensors and have automatic leveling.

I really don't know what have you done with the wiring.

Have you tried simply disconnecting it and see if the blower works ??

  8. Yep already tried that still nothing

  9. Ok guys this got resolved yesterday with a laughable culprit, a fuse as I have said I checked most fuses In the glovebox but the ones I couldn't get to I left incase I dropped it somehow and what to you know it was a 5amp fuse at the top of the 4 th row of the board. Good news is as I have a friendly garage I asked him if he would print the page of which it shows all the fuses and what there for in the glovebox(as renault only show a few in the book) I will try to get it up on here later.

  10. Could you do a guide for fitting xenons?

  11. Once you have the headlights out ( 2 torx bolts and a bar to lift) I spliced using scotch locks/ splice connectors into black and purple in the 7 pin plug that goes into the headlight. This is for an error canceller that stops error lights or flickering, so black from the canceller obviously goes to black and red from canceller to purple, I'm not sure if its right but I went into the loom twice so it goes through the canceller and back into the circuit. I have had them a week now and no problems apart from aircon which was my fault. I recommend disconnecting the battery of which I did not lol. I have taped the connectors up but if you really want to do a proper job either cut the cable and put through crimps on or solder the connections the reason I haven't even though I have a friendly garage I can always change back to halogens come mot time.
