I have a knock on the front right, has been there for a while but has got slightly worse recently it seems. Only happens at very load speed when the suspension is unloaded. Had same thing on a 306 gti6 years ago so I’m guessing it’s the drop links that need replacing? Any advice/suggestions will be appreciated.
Hello, I have a knock noise as well, noticed yesterday. You wrote "on load speeds", supposedly you meant on "low speeds?" On mine, I noticed it in traffic jam when engaging the clutch as passenger speed. A very small clunk sometimes when starting or stopping at almost no speed. Will look after tonight. Might be the drop link, good idea. Is this behaviour matching to yours? Greets from germany, Udo
oh front suspension knocks, seems to be the megane rs life. Everytime ive upgraded something with the suspension i get a new knock
And what would you suggest what it is? Is the drop link prone to wear out? I have the KW Var. 3 with adj. top mounts, but I don´t think thats the problem. It´s a very small clunk only to hear when tenderly stopping or starting. Can suggest very well that it´s the drop link.
Will do. I’m saying it’s drop link or something similar because had exactly same thing on a car years ago, yes I meant low speed. Will see probably get it up soon and have a look although doubtful will find any play if past experience anything to go on. Car past M.O.T about 2 weeks ago.
Will do, saw those on RPD and thought could be that. Haven’t had the wheels of for a while. Cheers for advice.
Strange, I jacked it up and removed the wheels and even removed the RH drop link completely to check out the play, clamped it into the vice, no clearance at all. Checked out all susp. components and the nuts if anything might come loose, no issues at all. After test ride, no more noise to notice. When hard driving, no issues, car behaviour as usual. On 12th Oct. I will go to Hockenheim for track hours, will see what happens.
