wishbone fitting

  1. Gents, quick easy one for you, does the hub need to come out to fit new wishbones? Got a 3" decat in the post and wanted to know if I should wait and get the new suspension parts fitted in one go whilst the hub is off. Otherwise I can get them fitted later if it's not such a labour intensive task.

    Cheers

  2. I wouldn't of thought you have to take the hub off. Just undo the three bolts at the bottom of the hub to separate it from the arm then undo the ball joint. That's what I'd do.

  3. Hub doesn't need to come off to do arms. You just unbolt the the lower 'mount/ on the hub that the ball joint bolts to, 3 x 13mm bolts. It's the taking off of the front bumper to do the arms where it get fun!

  4. Is ther a job on the meg that doesn't require the front bumper to come off ?

  5. Are you on about the hub or subframe to fit the decat?

Hub doesn't need to come off to change the arms.. Take the rad mount and arch liners out, hub stabiliser, caliper and disc and undo the 18mm nut or the three bolts (can leave the caliper and disc on then.. Then the lower arm bolts.. Job done..

  6. I've heard you can change the rear wiper without taking front bumper off? Don't believe it myself.

  7. Thanks guys, of to Mark black to get the bits sorted. Going to get it all done in one hit whilst the cars in bits.
