Hi, The original (bluey / purple in the right light) screen in my '04 225 will be an MOT failure in August so just weighing up my options. IIRC there were several threads on the other site about people going thru insurance and Autoglass et. al. installing a horror of a screen that fitted badly and the rain sensor no longer worked. Based on that I'm a bit reluctant to go that route, especially as I have £100 excess - I'd rather not have the aggro of chasing down the insurer / windscreen company if they fit a pikey screen rather than a proper one. Spoke to an indy. fitter ages ago who suggested that Autoglass and the like use cheap import screens rather than decent quality ones which he claimed to fit.... Have got one price at the moment - £250 fitted for a blue/purple screen. I didn't think they made them anymore and that ones with a green tint were the only type? There was also the option of acoustic / non acoustic..I've no idea! I don't mind paying for a decent screen need to know what to ask for to ensure I don't get summat shite, I can go through the insurance and potentially get that Are there any part #s, glass makes, glass types I should be looking out for? Has anyone got any prices which I can gauge against my quotes? Cheers, Paul
