225 Windows no longer close after deadloack - Mechanic fault?

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by RSmacgyver, Oct 19, 2014.

  1. After getting my driver side lock replaced my window no longer closes when I activate the deadlock. I'm expecting the mechanic to try and wiggle out of it, as they scratched my car during the repair but "forgot" to tell me about it.

It worked just fine before the lock was replaced, so I'm just going to assume it something they have or have not done.

    Any advice?

    Thanks

  2. Hey macgyver as i said on the other site have you tried resetting the window?

  3. Yes jjones82 thanks for the reply. I answered just this second, and yes they work fine. Just the deadlock issue.

  4. And it was only the lock they touched? They didnt change the window reg/ temic module? As i've heard if the module is changed to a cheaper one you lose the anti pinch feature and deadlock shutting,

  5. I'm not sure if the module was changed, it initial issue was the door not closing so the lock was replaced. I'm not sure if the module would need replacing for that.

  6. It shouldn't have been touched i wouldn't have thought.
Only thing i can possible think of is its got a bit of water ingress into it although it may be something totally unrelated and just bad timing coinciding with the lock, sorry can't be any more helpful!
Its worth a punt throwing it back at the mechanic though, worse they can say is its not my fault!

  7. Simple thing I'd to.plug old one back I'm and see what happens
