Window regulators - anyone had it done BEFORE they fail?

  1. Just been on online chat with Renault who say that the 76% contribution to a fix/upgrade is only valid when your windows stop working, i.e. they won't do it as a preventative measure. Does that agree with other people's experiences? As I work overseas a lot, it could be a bit of a disaster if the windows wound themselves down whilst I am away! Renault assured me that they only do it when someone's windows fail.

    cheers

  2. Can't see them doing it before they fail as it'll cost them money to replace a working item.

  3. Yes I suppose that makes sense in some ways - but I thought I had read somewhere about it being done as a kind of recall since they recognise it's a known issue. Seems I am wrong but just wanted to check in case anyone has blagged it...

    cheers
