Wheel Query

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by EAndy, Jan 4, 2016.

  1. Seen lots of forum threads stating ET52 is about the lowest you'll go my question if OEM is ET65 and people people are running 20mm spacers surely thats a contradiction as clearly ET45 is doable. Or am I drunk and missing the point?

  2. Also take into account wheel width.

  3. Indeed but OEM is 18x8.25 so I could argue that a 18x8 wheel I might even be able to get to ET39 or with a 18x8.5 wheel no more than ET51.

Going to mock up a template I think at the weekend and have a look. Seen lots of ET45 wheels I like as a daily wheel and keep my OEM 18's for the track.

The main thing putting me off fitting lower offset wheels is the fact the scrub radius is drastically changed and i don't want to mess that up, FWIW i ran 20mm spacers on mine and removed them after 10 minutes on track, Ruined the feeling of the car, gave more torque steer and understeer and generally felt a bit off.

That was with stock suspension mind you but i don't see that making much of a difference, Still I'm keen to try them now but suspect the same issue will be there

  5. These are just going to be my day to day running wheels though for fast road so will give it a go and see. I generally have a day look and track look for my cars like with the GT-R for example during the week it's more of a show pony for fast road;

I'm speaking with COR about making me another set of wheels, they made me a custom set for my GT-R below obviously bespoke made so pick own fitments, (size, pcd, et etc) quite fancy the same wheels on the Megane but without the lip.

Least then I can go for something like a 19x8.5" wheel with a ET55 in my own choice.

  6. I've ended up ordering a set of O.Z Alleggerita HLT in Black

Gone with a 18x8.5" wheels 5x114.3 obviously and a ET of 55. So no issues with them catching once coil-overs are fitted. I'm going to run these as my track wheels and consider a 'show wheel' at a later date. They worked out around £250 a wheel.

  7. Yup and that should be fine, even with coilovers imho. 225 Pilot SS' would work on that rim width as well!

  8. In terms of scrub radius I doubt you'll notice any real difference, if anything my wheels make my car feel better. I have 18x7.5 et42 daily wheels 18x8 et45 track wheels and have run 17x8 et38 with no issues at all. The guys at ring run 17x9 et42 and a guy in Malaysia runs 18x9 et55 to allow a 265 front tyre.

  9. Will stick out 12mm.

  10. OP put some pictures up once you've fitted the wheels!

  11. I felt exactly the same with my previous 197 cup. I ran it for around18 months on h&r coilovers, felt great. Then added some 16mm spacers, soon as I drive it it felt off...... felt really nervous, especially under braking. I binned them off after a day. Ruined the handling for me

  12. Youre correct I was working on a std ET of 62 instead of 65

  13. To me spacers always leave a thought in your mind but wheels with lower offset are fine. If challenge anyone to drive mine and tell me it's feels bad

  14. Nice them Andy
Can I ask where you ordered them from
The aussies have tend to go et45 I think and they have loads of sexy alloys

  15. I've ordered them from the States, they're going from Italy to USA. Then USA to the companies other branch based in Edinburgh and shipped to me.

Means no tax, vat, customs and duties for me. You can get them for £320 from Germany was cheapest way I found them in Europe. It's because I wanted them painted Black it added more price, around £60 a wheel.

I then found I could of got these for £880.00 and would of probably just got these!

  19. I know I've been trying to find them somewhere else but no success ha!

  20. Yeah they seem to hold the parts monopoly with some suppliers unfortunately

  21. BR special tuning do them for £210 a wheel.

  22. Direct from Italy is 175 euros a wheel in white and 183 euros in gold, black, anthracite or silver

  23. Link??

  24. EVOCorse direct.

    http://www.evocorse.com/

EVOCorse are at Autosport Show this week person I spoke to said speak to them at show they'll sort me out free shipping and tax discount if I wanted a set.

    They also list SE1330151051-A3.000009.00
18 x 8 for the mk3 clio (5x108 ET 48) which I guess is the same fit for my R26. For 600 notes you can count me in for a set as well, would be rude not to frankly.

Oooft that's tempting! I need to see them on a car though.

  28. I'll be interested too

  29. I'd be interested !

  30. Interested if they come up with a good price/free shipping to Sweden!

  31. If it's a case I have to batch order and they all come to me then I'd happily ship to Sweden, something the size and weight of 4 wheels would cost me using my UPS account around £60 for a 3-4 day delivery.

  32. They look great!

  33. Alright. Let me know what they will cost me and I'll think about it! Demon Tweeks have a good deal on Team Dynamics 1.2 at the moment so..
