Wheel offset for stock suspension

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by evenflow88, Nov 28, 2016.

  1. Dear all ,

Do you think a 18x8.5" with offset of 33 fit a stock megane with stock suspension? I am worried it may rub during track days.

    Thank you

  2. What megane is it?

I only know the offsets etc. for a Mk2 Renaultsport (225, R26, R26R) Megane. If it's one of those, I doubt they'd fit - the wheels would poke out of the arches 43mm more than the OEM wheels - that's a big difference!

  3. Opps , it's a megane RS 250 MK3

  4. Ok - I still think they'll poke out of the arches too far - hopefully someone with some real world experience will come along shortly!

  5. OEM 18x8.25 ET 65
    Your new wheel 18x8.5 ET33

65mm - 33mm=32mm. Not taking in to consideration the extra wheel width (.25).

    I would say, no.

  6. I have 8x18 with a et42 offset and they are flush with the wheel arch on 225 tyres..pretty much the limit really.

  7. I disagree, I have 18x8 Et38 and they fit fine.

  8. Thanks guys appreciate your feedback

  9. No they won't fit I've tried 18x8.5 et30 with 3 degrees of camber and they still where too tight

  10. ha ha..ok..you can go 4mm more then!

  11. Different cars I think! You've got an R26, right? These boys have a Mk3 Rs, which gives them a bit more room to play with.

  12. That's what she said. Budum'tishhhh
