So my lights have been giving me some Jip recently all bulbs appeared to work but the indicator liked to double time when I was breaking so I decided to have a root around and check the earth. Whilst I had the dodgy one out I thought I may as well check the opposite side and I came accross this. I'm guessing it's probably a tracker but who ever had it before seems to have left one of the wires out the cluster despite it all working. All very strange! Any ideas before I take half the car apart to figure it out? 25f92317ed607e5624c4c0f5394effbe.jpg babc21cb103d3d4fbe530ec481507abb.jpg 6c797f45cf9f34e502d21853b590ddc7.jpg

Just taken it apart. Looks like an aftermarket alarm. It wasn't secured in properly. Still can't figure out why there's only one lead to the cluster though!

  3. I had the same problem as you a couple of months back, double speed indicators when breaking on the drivers side. Mine turned out to be just a dirty connector, but like you, I also checked the passenger side earth point as well. Mine also had that red LED light which I thought was a strange place to have one as you would never see it behind the trim. At the time, I never bothered to find out what it was actually connected to, but your post has me curious so I went out and checked mine just now.

Seems I have the exact same setup, only mine was all properly secured so I'm guessing this must be the factory fitted alarm and not aftermarket. Oh, and the reason why the passenger side light cluster only has one connector is because the fog light on that side doesn't actually work, only the drivers side does.

Yes! True! I've checked the cables as much as possible I'll probably check the LED when I next take a look!
