What have you done to your Car today?

  1. 7.2mm, you'll be lucky that's more likely over 2 tyres not 1

  2. Surprisingly the depth varies with tyre size. For a 235/40 18 inch its 7.2 mm. Remember Michelin added an extra 20% more depth for the Cup 2.

  3. The cup 2 tyres are not that extreme looking tyre to say a cup or cup+ , I'll now better when they get fitted as there at the garage wrapped up at moment so have not had a god look at them

Probably at the end of the year once I get myself something nice to use as a "daily" nice 3 series touring or something similar that gives me the option to tow

  12. My powerflex black series lower engine mount arrived today.

  13. Washed the Mrs daily banger. Not bad for 11yrs old and 179k

Been having a splurge on parts recently, got a set of Brembo HC disks, Mintex pads and MrPink pins for the front. Chinese cooler (link from Andy Bond) and Cooksport springs. Blooming freezing out so its all sat in the dining room, likely just get Paul@Tech-1 to fit it all for me.

Anyone thinking of doing the MSE days at Hullavington coming on in a few weeks? The land has been sold of by the MoD for housing so may be our last chances to get on that track.

Cleaned both cars for the first time since November

Went for a drive with my mate in his scooby and waved goodbye to him in the rear view mirror

  19. Got a pic of the bucket seats in the meg mate?

  21. Went over 60k miles! Next up is new engine mounts and gearbox mount insert and caliper dust seals. Then having the rear quarters re sprayed and protected and she should be ready to sell to make way for a 265!

  22. Thanks for pic, i like them alot, there relatively cheap as well arnt they

  23. Really cheap mate £300 new for the pair with runners, I prefer them a lot compare to other bucket seats

  24. Did you go with the standard size or go for the wider ones?

  25. Wider ones mate

  26. what they like? i had some recaros bucket seats and they was tight as a nun lol think im gonna take the plunge on em

  27. Their really good, actually really comfy on long journeys. I went to spa with them fitted and probably the last half n hour they started to uncomfortable which I think is really good.

I'd much rather sit in my seats then the girlfriends Clio 200 seats (non recaros) on a long journey.

I'm 40-42" waist and I fit in fine lol

  29. What frames you used to mount these Ian?

Mine was dropped off today for Belts and a new Slave and Clutch. Got a top spec Skoda to smoke about it, Bi Xenons are brilliant.

Also in the process of calibrating it so i can get switchable maps on the various throttle maps through the RS monitor, LC, Race ESP and whatever else we can come up with and get working.

KTR subframes, i did remove the side mounts and sliders they came with, turned the side mounts around and refitted, because they are the wide ones i had to drill 2 new holes on the outer sides of both subframes.

  32. On the tunnel (inner) side what did you mount the lap belt to ? Did you drill into chassis or secure to side mount plate ? Also for 5th strap, did you drill chassis under seat or attach to subframe

I drilled through the side of the tunnel opposite to the outer fixing, made some plates, drilled and tapped to 10mm, put the eye bolts through and screwed on the plates, awkward to do on your own as your arms will be too short, a screwdriver through the eye and a weight to hold it in the hole worked well, plate i used was 10mm thick.

I have six point harness's, so i wrapped the belt ends around the subframe, same as you would do around a roll cage bar, i protected the edges with some thick 1/2 inch hose split length ways and taped around to stop them falling off, it's a bit tight to do but i think it's worked out well.

  35. yh that is good to be fair, i remember first time driving my r26r home, was fine for 1st hour then my legs and bum went numb, my steady ride home turned into a quick dash home before i became paralysed lol hoping they will be ok to get to the ring and back with regular stops for a stretch. all i know is nothing can be as bad as vauxhall seats, rather sit on nails.

  36. when you going bedford mate? 27th of this month? if you are il be the one drooling through ur windows eyeing up your seats lol
