Picked it up from its 2 and a bit week holiday at SWR.

Engine wasn't damaged by the flood thankfully.

Decat was fitted along with a group N spec Lightweight flywheel. Sounds awesome with the decat and the flywheel has made a noticeable difference to the way it drives.

  4. I presume Mr Black will be fitting all your goodies? He can fit but they go in order (springs and shocks are connected to the top mount as a solution). So I would do it all together.

  5. Yeah Mr Black will be working his magic. In an ideal world I'd have them as well but time is against me. Excuse my ignorance but to replace the top mounts can you attack the job from the top of the engine bay? and is it a sod to do?

  6. This group N and stage 2 stuff is tuner bullshit. There are no two ways about it.

Does anyone know what group N is ? I do , is a FIA standard for production cars. You have a production car flywheel. Thats been lightened. In essence , no long a standard item and therefore not group N.

Its like the early 1990s all over again , with "hybrid" turbos , stage 7 heads etc.

Sorry , not having a go. Just dont like to think that some tuners are pulling the wool over eyes.

No I realise that, it is just a lightweight smf flywheel, iirc its 5kgs lighter than stock.

TTV called it the Group N

  8. Sprayed and fitted my door bullets in anthracite to match the colour of the wheels.
And got new tyres fitted all round Michelin PS3's and alignment done, so much better than the "barum" and "accelera" tyres that the previous owner put on.

  9. Top mounts are attached to the shock and spring, to change you need to remove strut from car. Not worth changing shocks without changing top mounts if top mounts are required.

  10. Arse! Out comes the wallet again. Thanks mate

  11. I have that one as well !

RS250 is slightly different, does yours chatter? Makes my idle sound lumpy and when you start it make a "ting" noise .

Takes a bit of getting used to though, I stalled 3 times leaving the garage LOL

  13. Ah , my mistake. Didnt spot your 250 ! Sorry.

I get the metallic tinging noise when starting , but no chatter. Defiantly a fraction easier to stall.

Might be a combination of the new clutch as well, just need to adjust my driving style again to suit it.

Not sure I would recommend it to others though, there is a lot more transmission noise with it fitted

  15. I dont have any extra transmission noise ?

  16. Will.

I want the 'ting ting' noise on start up. Love that sound.

  17. My window decided to lead his own life! A sound came from the doorcard when i started the car, and the window came up and down by itself. Followed the window regulator repair guide from MS.net eventually the whole window mechanism cable thing fel apart!! Window is now stutted and already ordered a complete new one... gotta love it when a 10 minute job turns out too a 3-day job

  18. Boot lid and tailgate polished, maybe need to give the tailgate another go as still see a few minor scratches... Another 4 hours of cleaning and polishing though ^_^

My neighbours already think I'm odd just for washing my car at all....

  19. Just had a look, the brown plug goes into the temperature sensor (i think thats what it is) On my mirror the plastic housing didnt have the temp sensor in, i assume it was off a model without climate control so i just reused my old plastics with the new mirror

  20. Cheers for looking Mr Jones. I've got it all up abd running now :-)

  21. Cleaned my seatbelts, I didn't realise how dirty they actually were. The colour of the water when I finished was disgusting. They're not perfect but so much cleaner than they were when I started!

  32. Cheers mate ill try tommorow i i get time i take it you unbolted it at the bottom ?

  33. Yeah, if you have a jetwash it'll do an even better job. Soak them for 5-10 mins agitate with the nailbrush then use a jetwash on them. I don't have a jet wash so couldn't get mine looking brand new but they're a million times better than they were.
