Weird Insurance Glitch

  1. Good Afternoon all,

Just had my insurance up for renewal on the 250 and did the usual gocomparethemeerkatsupermarket websites and found my by car is coming up as a 265 Trophy?

I know its defo a 250 (says so on the V5!) but being a 61 plate its one of the later pre-265 ones so is probably just a mistake in the insurance company databases.

I'm not fussed anyway as it was cheaper just to renew with quotemehappy who just list the car a Megane Renaultsport and its only £176 with £0 excess (the joys of being an old fart who can't grow up).

Anyone else had this issue on 'changeover' year models? I wondered if this is why the quotes back are higher than my renewal

    thanks

  2. Its the insurance db. Make sure to correct it. They could nullify their insurance if it was wrong.

  3. As above, I'd ring and get it checked properly - you may not be insured otherwise.

I rang to cancel a renewal once and of course they asked why. When I told them I had a cheaper quote they asked for the details as they do, then said my car doesn't exist on their database and isn't covered (R26 with the stupidly long official name). At that point I said I was very sorry for providing the wrong details and that I hadn't been covered for the last year, but could I please have my premiums back, as you wouldn't have paid out in the event of a claim.

I don't need to tell you how that went.
