Hey everyone, I hope everyone's doing good. Just posting here to have your opinions on the noise (howling?) my car's been making for the last few weeks as the engine revs up. This howling has been gradually getting louder The sound appears at around 1,300 rpm and gets louder as the engine revs higher, but seems to be completely covered by the "normal" turbo whistling past 2,100 rpm I have an appointment with the mechanic on monday, but I would like to know if this is sounding like a boost leak / failing turbo to you guys. More info below: Tuned MK2 Mégane RS dCi 175 with 61,000 km (c. 98k miles) - Engine code M9R-724 (dCi 2.0) EGR off, DPF off GTA1752LV turbocharger (the one found from the Espace 4, if I'm not mistaken) Oil changes are done every 6,000 km (c. 3,700 miles) No power loss at all, no DTC either. Boost pressure reaches the 2.95 bar reference value without any issue. I will gladly provide any additional information upon request. Thank you very much.
