Bizarre, the previous owner had a shiny Renault gear knob on which I have removed as I personally prefer the original. However, when I try and get the original back on it doesn't bite into place as I think it should. It catches on the plastic reverse gear safety before it fixes into place. Now, I have no idea if that has made any sense to anyone, but I was hoping someone could upload a picture without the gear knob as the shaft looks like it might have been cut on top.
You need to cut off the original gear knob before you can fit the new one. Looks like you need to buy the complete kit from Renault if you want it back to original.
It should have a black plastic T piece on the metal shaft of the gearstick, if its been cut it will just be metal most likely. You could always try tiger seal/ epoxy?
