So after all the help I got on here, spent the weekend fully detailing the car. I have many pictures on my Camera, however the key factor is just how disgusting it was at the start! Citrus Power prewash, rinse, snowfoam, rinse, wash with Zymol Natural, rinse, iron-x, rinse, claybar, rinse, Meguiars correction, rinse, hydro2, dry, then 2 layers of Dodo Orange Crush. However I'm after advice, With my weekly wash, I have no option but to park under a tree, and drive approximately 1200 miles per month on motorways; picking up a lot of tar and grime on the way. What should I be doing as part of my weekly wash? My assumption was Citrus Power prewash, snowfoam, Tardis, rinse, wash, and then I assume at that point I'll have to re-wax? Thanks! KJ
Just put a good few costs of wax / sealant and hope it lasts for 6 months or so. Once you go back to the tardis it strips everything away and its back to stage 1
Hopefully with a good layer of sealant the tar will come off with a normal wash as it should not bond to the paint and struggle with a slick surgace
My wife got me some of that shopping channel greased lightning it gets tar off etc ,also you could use it as a detailer inbetween washes and won't scratch as its a waterless wash ,with a lot of wax in it.I've been impressed by it tbh.
I have quick detailer, however it's not very good with tree sap. I don;t really want to be waxing every week, however if it is unavoidable, I'll just have to do it!
As already said, the only real option is to use a durable sealant and/or wax and wash off any tree sap ASAP. For wax, I've found Collinite 476S to be super durable. A double coat of the stuff lasts months.
