Hi all, Please help me, today I noitced water in the footwells, so I sorted gutters. I stripped the interior out to dry and I can see water running in from the bottom of the doors. Any ideas how to stop it coming in? Thanks, John
Are your doors full of water? Can you hear them sloshing if you move them? As their prone to filling with water their should be some drain points on the underneath of the door, normally blocked / covererd by the rubber seal. Theres also an air con drain in the dash i think that can get blocked and flood the cabin even if the scuttle panel drains are clear, Theres a guide on the "other site" somewhere that shows everything
Hi, the drains are clear, I have the drivers door panel off and that's draining ok, but I can see the passenger door the water is running off the door card over the seal into the cabin, but the door drains are clear
open the door and run your hand along the underside of the door, you will feel a rubber strip, lift the strip a little and put your finger between it and the door and run your finger along the length of it and you will locate either two or three drain holes - Is it these holes that are clear / free? It can help to cut the rubber seal a little around these holes
If you've got the doorcards off i'd probably do a bit of preventative maintenance on the window regulators too as their prone to breaking due to the water in the doors
Just cut the rubber slightly and raised the door seal. Its not my day today..drivers window motor siezed and now my mileage display is barely readable I have done the preventative work on the passenger window reg, All this and its only done 23000 miles!!
Ive had this today on my 250 . We had some heavy rain and the Drivers floor compartment actually had about 3 inches of water in it! pulled the carpet up and its bone dry! Seems as though the bottom of the carpet has a waterproof backing it was only in the floor bin. Does the 250 have the plugs in the bottom of the door? Any other suggestions? Cheers .
