Hi everyone, Looking to purchase a Megane 250. Spec wanted as follows: - Cup Chassis & LSD - Leather recaro heated seats (leather/cloth buckets also considered, but not standard cloth) - RS Monitor - Visibility Pack - Upgraded alloys, ideally 19" STEEV - Dual Climate Control Please post on here or drop me a PM if you're looking to sell! Many thanks, Dan
I was under the impression that the standard leather seats are made by Recaro? As opposed to the Recaro bucket seats
Yes, "standard" seats are also made by Recaro, its just everyone is calling bucket seats by the Recaro [emoji51] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oh my bad I didn't know that. When I was looking for my 250, I wanted the bucket seats so didn't even bother looking at ones without.
I wouldn't worry about wheel size. If you do want to downgrade to 19' you can buy them afterwards without ruling out cars just because they are on 18s
I agree with nickfrog I wouldn't worry with the downgrade 19" wheels, if you can go buy a Megane with upgrade 18" wheels on a car. Then you can always swap the OEM 18" Upgrade wheels you don't want with the downgraded 19" STEEV wheels. Plenty of people continuously searching to swap the STEEV wheels on their Megane for the 18's
The 19s are heavy and diamond cut, expensive to repair if you scuff them etc. My car had the 19s on it from factory but I asked the dealer I bought it from to swap them for the 18s off another RS Megane.
I dont remember exact weight numbers, but it wasnt that much different like everybody thinks, like really, i sold both of my sets thats why i know. But yeah, dont bother about the alloys, you can always buy a set you like after you get the car, all the other parts and condition of the car is much more important than alloy wheels
Thanks for your advice everyone. Info on alloys taken on board. I've been looking at a car that, at first glance, appears to have the cup pack as it has red callipers. However when I phoned the dealer I was told it didn't have the cup pack despite the red calipers. Presuming the previous owner didn't just paint them red, was this a factory option? I am also looking at one that does not have the RS monitor fit. I notice that Renault now do an RS monitor app, is this a suitable replacement? I've heard about the throttle maps, but are these made redundant if the car has a remap? Cheers!
Throttle maps and remap are different things, so you still can use them after a one. You can retrofit RS-monitor or "activate" it, so that should not change your search either. As for the brakes, i dont know that there was an option of red calipers apart from the Cup pack, it should be cleared from the Dealer via VIN-code what package the car haves finally? I would imagine that someone on here could check to see if it has a cup pack if you give them the reg
Reg is SV10 WOA. I did try ringing my local Renault dealer and the guy said he couldn't see anything about a cup pack but then he didn't seem particularly clued up if I'm honest.
Get the VIN and ask them for a print out for the spec of the car. I got it for my car and it told me all the options it left with from the factory
Thanks everyone. Contacted Renault UK in the end who confirmed it didn't have the cup chassis fit. Still on the hunt!
You could try KTR/K-Tec. That's where I bought my car. They only stock Cup spec cars and mine is pretty much fully loaded.
Have found one for a particularly cheap price that has the spec I'm after other than the damn visibility pack. Not bothered about the power folding mirrors, but how easy is it to retrofit the xenons and auto dimming rear view mirror?
I'm contemplating selling my Megane 250. It's got all the options that you're after, only it has the recaro cloth seats (shell bucket seats) with yellow belts and the 18s instead of 19s. Contact me via email if you wanna talk more. ross.binnie87@gmail.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
