Hi All, I've been on this forum a number of years, I own a ultra blue R26 as well as a Twingo 133 daily but never really posted much, I thought I'd post a bit up on here of my R26 and the bits and pieces I do to it. I've just got it back on the road after rebuilding the front hub assembly and replacing a driveshaft etc. So here it is! as I post today number 1013 sat on 59K miles the spec that I can remember, it has loads of bits done to it lol. CGR 3" Downpipe into 3" K-Tec Exhaust, GPI Cooler, 630cc injectors, K-Tec Intake, Powerflex bushes in all engine mounts, Single mass flywheel and R clutch, RSTuning mapped. New R26 dampers with cooksport springs, driveshafts replaced, hubs rebuilt, drop links, twist links, inner and outer tie arms all done. R26R wheels with AD08R tyres, 25mm rear spacers, 5mm front. R style decal kit in black and silver, full maxton skirt kit. DRL duolight fog lights, led backglow in front grill to. Scangauge in dash, 197 retrimmed steering wheel, Lee Drake gear gaiter, double din head unit, pioneer speakers throughout. Short shift mod and shifter adaptor mod with a motorsport style shift knob. I am always playing with new things, working on a set of funky rear lights atm which I will post if successful! I can also do the short shift linkage mod on a exchange basis if anyone needs one still! I also make the kit to adapt the gear knob fitment. Pictures attached, many thanks! Will
Looks sweet that mate and great spec. That's exactly where ive fitted my Scangauge lol. What front splitter is it by the way??
Mate that looks awesome. It’s basically how I’m wanting to get my Ultra Blue looking. What width and offset are the R26R wheels and have you got any close up pictures of them showing how close they are with the spacers? I might have misunderstood your other post re shift let them. I’d be looking for a shorter / tighter throw. Not sure what the other but does? (Technical hey?!
Hes made a kit that will allow you to fit a aftermarket gearknob, rather than just the standard Renault Item. You want a shortshift, which will certainly give you what you require. http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=5107&appid=12 Pricey,as everything is from KTEC,but you do get the entire mechanism,as yours is probably tired by now.
That is one mint looking R26 ! The stance and .R rims look perfect, as do the skirts and splitter. Nice one [emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303]
Thanks buddy. Had a look but says it’s not suitable for the DCI RS175, which is what I have. Wonder if humur0ustrax’s modded ones will work on the DCI.
Front splitter is a Maxton Design one, I ordered it as soon as I heard they we're gonna do them, fit is really good and it mounts to where the undercut of the bumper is, making it a bit higher than the stock rubber lip so less scraping! Same width as R26 alloys, offset is ET66 rather than ET68 so more or less the same. Front sit perfect for me but the rear maybe a little too wide, I prefer the bolt on then bolt to spacers though and could only get these in 25mm at the time As this man says! I make a kit allowing you to fit after market gearknobs, that is what have posted a for sale thread for recently. I have done a few short shift mods to which is what Ktec are selling above, I was doing them on a exchange basis, ie I send you a modified linkage and swap it for yours and you return your unmodified one to me. Not seen the shift linkage on a DCI so I'm not sure what is possible there.. Not sure if my gearknob kit will fit either if I am honest as the shift assembly is slightly different in those, I would have to ask you to take some measurement to be sure if it would fit or not. Thank you for the kind comments all!
Thanks for all the info mate. Are the side skirts easy to fit? I have the rubber front splitter at the moment, so perhaps would look odd with the side skirts and not the matching front splitter?
Hi Marc I am going to do the wife's dci175 short shift, looks like it's going to be as easy as the 225's were, the only problem is access, but the engine and box is already out so should be easy to do, will put some info up when i do it.
What...all that and no R26R spoiler?? Tidy looking car, you've done a great job [emoji106] Where did you got the fog DRL's and how did you fit them? Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk
Really like to look of these in Ultra Blue, was between that or Liquid Yellow when I was looking for one. What kind of power are you running? I've got very similar engine/power mods and will be heading to RS Tuning in the new year to get them to check over and adjust the K-Tec map that's currently on there so interested to get an idea of what to expect. Any chance of uploading your dyno graph?
It does have a R spoiler to! Just the angle of the photos. The foglights are einparts duolights, they're quite difficult to find a set but easy to install, the drl rings are on the whole time the ignition is on, they turn off with dipped beam with how I have them wired. I originally wanted red when i was originally looking! This crept up with low miles and good history and I couldn't refuse, the colour has grown on me massively, I love it in darker lights, it has like a purple flick to it. Its at 282/300, graph is nice and smooth wherever it is! I had a good experience with them and would recommed, had no experience with Ktec
