**URGENT** rear caliper carrier bolt size R26

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Nightingale95, Jul 25, 2015.

  1. Does anyone know the size of the bolt that holds the caliper on? I think mine has snapped but I can get a replacement from work if I find out before I leave!
    The car is an R26

    Thanks

  2. 13mm springs to mind

  3. If you had a 13mm spanner on it, it will most likely be 8mm.

Bolts are sized by the thread, not the head.

  4. That's exactly what I thought. I've got some M8 bolts from work don't suppose you have a rough idea on length do you?

  5. I wouldn't begin to guess mate, but surely you can just take a range of lengths and give back the ones that don't fit? They're only pennies a piece.

  6. That's what I'm going to do mate. I can always cut one down if it comes to it!

    Thanks for your help!

The bolts will be high tensile as they are holding on the calipers

  8. What was the spec in the end?

I know they are E16 heads...

  9. There not high tensile as that's a 12.9 grade that's for sure

8.8 and 10.9 are are high tensile as well

  11. Thanks. I'd use 10.9 but I was after diameter/thread/length/shank length???
