How can you afford to do all this stuff!..must be costing a fortune with the forged engine. Wouldn't like your credit card bill!
well i picked the car Friday and im currently running it in for a few hundred miles and then taking it back to fit the bigger injectors and get it remapped. very happy with it so far although i haven't took it above 3k yet. Andy mentioned it had been remapped before which i didn't know, and i was wondering if the decat could have caused something? the head had been off before as it had the wrong head gasket on it which meant it didn't have the right compression and the finish of the head wasn't brilliant so thats all been corrected now! heres a list of whats its had done R26R SMF R26R clutch kit Megane 250 turbo Rebore to 83mm Wossner forged pistons 83mm PEC rod set ARP rod bolts Forged valves (inconel exhaust) Cylinder head refurbishment MLS head gasket Hydraulic lifter set head bolt set king crankshaft big end bearings King crankshaft main bearings Crankshaft thrust washers Oil pump Water pump Timing belt Powerflex ARB bushes Both driveshaft seals Driveshaft support bearing Bought a few as well while the car was away, im planing on moving the battery to the spare wheel well to free up some space the bay to fit a oil catch can Battery cable by matt eaton, on Flickr Electrical bits by matt eaton, on Flickr Battery tray by matt eaton, on Flickr the oil catch tank Oil catch tank by matt eaton, on Flickr also another thing that has bug me ive never had the the courtesy light in the bottom of the doorcards, ive taking the doorcard before to see if i had the loom but i never have, all the looms ive ever seen have had keyless entry which i dont have. i saw someone breaking a megane on Facebook which didn't have keyless and had the loom for the courtesy lights which is a result so hopefully they work!! Door looms by matt eaton, on Flickr i still would like to get the wheels done but there have to wait for a while

scared to think of the cost of all that work but you will have one hell of a nice megane at the end of it, how far do you plan on pushing the bhp and torque?
Good to see it up and running again Matt. Thanks for info, ordered one up. How did you connect up the water pipes too it by the way?? Cheers
Hey sweet build!!! Sorry for my ignorance with the models but in this picture what model Megane is this ? Its not a 225 dash... I was wondering as to if there is a way to get a yellow tacho for the 225/250 dash... I know with the NA5 mx5 i had you could print up a specific template which was matched to the tacho... any one heard of such a thig for 225/230 tacho ?
wow this car is amaizing , just bought an r26 and was wondering what you used to clean the seat belts
done a few more bits to it since ive had it back from engine dynamics firstly i took it back 3-4 weeks ago to get it finally mapped, it made 309bhp and 325 ftIbs. really happy with evn in 6th gear you put your foot down and it pulls like a train. Graph by matt eaton, on Flickr i moved the battery to the boot to make more room in the engine bay for a oil catch tank. i did have a couple of problems at first my battery i had already in the car wasn't powerful enough (063) to start it and secondly i didn't have a good enough earth when i first done it and i was getting frustrated with it because i didn't know what was wrong at first but i took a trip over to @AlexW and he showed me my error!! Battery in boot by matt eaton, on Flickr Untitled by matt eaton, on Flickr ive also removed the rear seats, i never have any sit in the back and i can hear the exhaust more . bought a rear bar from the megane Facebook group and got it powder coated back and got a rear cargo net Boot net by matt eaton, on Flickr Rear carpet by matt eaton, on Flickr bought new boost pipes from a company from france as people said the forge pipes wernt a very good fit. well these are even worse fit!!! the pipes wernt long enough to conect to the silicone hoses and the the holes that were cut hadnt been cleanned and it still had swarf in the pipes. so glad i cleaned to out before fitting. also had them powder coated back as well as a couple of brackets Welding by matt eaton, on Flickr Swarf by matt eaton, on Flickr GT Performance hard pipes by matt eaton, on Flickr Powder coated bits by matt eaton, on Flickr fitted new coil clips as mine were broke and a PTFE throttle body gasket, doubt is does anything but it was free and cleaned the throttle body up Ignition coil connectors by matt eaton, on Flickr Throttle body gasket by matt eaton, on Flickr Throttle body painted by matt eaton, on Flickr lastly i wanted to tidy up the engine bay where the battery was and make something to bolt the oil catch tank on to. i made a cardboard template first to make sure it would fit then got my dads work mate to make it out of metal for me. Great job on the engine bay, would love to strip all mine down and smarten it up. My Meg also has the sagging carpet, isn't there a bracket you can purchase that holds it up?
yeah there is a bracket that you can use, i have it fitted but it doesn't help that much. ive done something a bit more extreme now and used a dremel on the lip underneath the windscreen and cut slots in it and used some big cable ties and cut slits in to the carpet. so should move at all now! Would you recommend the mats Matt? currently got the renaultsport matt... been in the car for yers now so looking a little old... i just want to go for good quality thicker mats this time... seen a few sites that do "custom" mats but they're 60 odd quid too... the ones you got are half of that so just wondering what your thoughts are on them
