Hello I've just purchased my first Renault being a Megane r26 F1 and I'm really happy with it apart from the stereo. I want to upgrade the stereo ASAP upgrading the speakers and probably put a removable sub in there too - I have an active sub in the garage doing nothing. Also what's the best way of getting the main power cable from the battery to the boot? Thanks in advance for any help.
There's a grommet behind the glovebox mate which is about the only accessible route from the engine bay into the cabin... pretty sure there's a guide on here somewhere.. then side trim by sills off and route away to the boot Not the biggest of gauge holes unless you want to start drilling ! But enough to run a reasonable amp to a sub. I managed to do mine without removing battery and airbox using a flexible cable rod and a load of trial and error - prob better to remove both for access. Stereo and standard speakers do leave a bit to be desired !

Thanks for the information. That's where I'll start then. That's normally the hardest cable to sort anyway.
No worries a link from an "other" site Shows the grommet mate.. There's a bung in it which from memory you can squeeze the cable through.. http://www.meganeownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6643
I made some extra holes in the grommet which is pretty big, approximately 60mm. At the risk of stating the obvious, run the power down the passenger sill and all the others down the drivers side to avoid interference. Also, I managed to get the wires through when needed without removing air box, ecu and battery. However, if you're doing a complete install of a system you're better off taking them out. Good luck and share your installation when done. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
