Just wondering, is it ok to remove this and run without it? Reason I ask is mine is sagging which is causing it to rest on the engine cover when the bonnet is closed which has left black/brown marks on it. I'm assuming the material is fire resistant so it's never gunna catch fire from the heat, it's just annoying it leaving marks on the engine cover. It also seems to be disitegrating from the heat because it's leaving little black fibres everywhere.
