So my 265 has the 19" black gloss wheels, with bridgestone tyres on. The car was a year old on the 1st of march & i've done about 9,100 miles give or take a few. Anyway today my dealer told me both front tyres are 1.5mm below the limit on the inside? Now i've only driven normally no track days or driving like i stole it type thing ... so do i have a problem with alignment or are these tyres crap?? Thanks Paul
They are know for high tyre wear on the front, inner wear may be down to the setup from factory im not reslly sure.
Potenzas are soft so wear rate wont be great anyway. Inside wear is tracking out or too hard around roundabouts
I wouldn't expect your tyres to go in 9000 miles unless you've been on alot of track days. I managed over 15k (from memory) out of my front PS2's. Id get the tracking done regardless for peace of mind, a proper place though that uses a Hunter system or the likes.
Just had my tyres replaced on my 265 cup, 10k on the clock, so 10k on the tyres and they were down level with the tyre wear indicator. PS2's even wear across the tyre, no track days for me.
I had at least 20K on my original set Michelin PS with some spirited driving...was amazed at how long they lasted to be honest...I'm on Goodyear Eagles Asy 2's....dont last anywhere near the Mich's
So having another look at the wear it 2m/2m/-1.6m on both tyres. so possiable fairly even, all be it sh*te wear rate. I've spoken to renault uk who asked my dealer and they have said 9,000 -10,000 (i've done 9100) is about right for the cars tyre wear ? Does everyone else have to buy 2 new tyres every year ... i'm only driving A- B and not wheel spining or braking hard/skidding?
Sounds about right to me. Luckily you only have to buy them once a year, I'm doing 400 miles a week in mine at the moment, so tyres get bought quite frequently
Oooch! Just put and order in for two michelin pilot super sports so i'll have to see how i fair with them.
I'd been keen to know what the SS are like considering them for my next set. I'd be interested how much rim protection they offer, I went for Goodyears purely on the protection they had for the wheels - the 19s are sooooo easy to catch
Yeah the bridgestones it come with offer no protection so was expecting the same, will see on friday when fitted.
