Tyre Wear

  1. All R26 /175 owners,

I seem to wear my front tyres on the inside edge every 4-5K miles,

Car has been overalled on everything, hub bearings, cup damper and H&R springs 3 month ago.
Car has 194K miles on clock had 2 alignment done early this year,

Any advice welcome please, How long do your tyres last in miles?
    Thanks in advance

  2. Hey, I'm no R26 owner, however I'd guess that the lowering springs you have got may have changed the geometry of the suspension such that you'll now be running more camber than stock. This can affect tyre wear particularly making it worse around the inside edge. I find Michelin PS4 tyres are a great balance between for wear rate and grip so if you're not running those already I'd recommend an upgrade.

  3. As Wackers said. More Camber probably. There are a lot of factors when it comes to tyre life. Have your wheels been balanced properly? Correct pressure? Etc etc

  4. Thanks for the help,
Yes you most likely be right about camber as the previous H&R spring i had were for the standard Megane not RS.
This time i got the RS Spring variant which lower the car even more especially on a DCI and was looking at maybe getting silver project adjustable top mount to reduce some of that camber,
i never do track days so standard camber is good for me,
I do used Michelin PS4 already and have done since they are out, before i used to have PS2.

  5. Get your tracking/alignment checked.

  6. will do tomorrow, Going to Imperial tyres in Swindon, been recommended from a guys i work with who has a 964 tuned and rate them well.
