Tyre Pressure Monitors

  1. Going to replace tyres soon. But car is not very old & low miles.

What is the story on these?
    I assume battery powered?
Do batterys have a life in miles or time?
Do they go into a sleep/energy saving mode when car not in use (like my cycle computer)
Do you replace (or do the tyre company) replace batteries on full sensor?

I have seen sensors for sale & there not to pricey but tyre companies charge you for a normal valve (which I assume they don't have to fit)

  2. Had a search online & generically they were talking 5-9 year with 7 years being target & talking about 100k.

Sounds like they do work more with mileage.

Also battery is integral and whole unit is changed.

As I said this is just generic info & not related to Renault in particular.

When did RS start getting them fitted?
