In this months mag, they test these two and the Curpa Ultimate Sub8 packed car for fastest FWD car. Strange that this video omits one, and they never even mention it. The Seat wins. Mostly down to the crap brakes of the Megane it has to be said.
I guess they are supposed to be but that video illustrates that they clearly don't offer the same level of grip. To be honest of you watch the video of the civic on the ring it's so damn fast but it's being driven beyond the limit of what's humanly possible. I mean really on the edge lol. It may be possible that the same driver could go quicker in the Megane. Who knows. Really they are both amazing cars and either could be faster depending on driver.
The civic ring lap is on unknown tyres, with a roll cage and with weight taken out of the car. There's also suspicion the Honda was running more than stock power.
It's still fooking fast though. I think there's a non edited Clip up now. I'd have either car really. Although the Megane is probably more to my taste in terms of styling. It looks classy yet sporty without being boring.
Ive owned and tracked both a Megane 250 cup (mapped to 285) and a Cupra 280, both different from each other in many ways, but the Cupra is a very capable car, road or track.
The Ring lap time was a pre production car anyway, Not to mention the fact that the video was recorded ages before it ever made it into mainstream media. T
Tbh the megane is pretty old compared to them so to still be up there shows how good a car it is but I do love the leon
Yep, welcome to progress. The Megane is 'old' now compared to the others, lets see how next year's RSM compares...
