Transmission/gearbox tolerance GT220 2014

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by groolo, Jan 17, 2018.

  1. Hello,

Does anybody know how much torque the transmisson/gearbox can manage?

    I am interested in getting a stage 1-map, 300hp/440Nm.
    Can it handle it?

    Thanks in advanced!

  2. Thats so not true.. The PK4 is capable of 600Nm no problem..
Dont forget they came first on diesel laguna 2 and megane 2, 2.0dci

Any idea what the NDO000 gearbox can take ???

  4. That sounds good MilosB! [emoji2]
But the link from tof73 above states only 400Nm.. which of these statements are correct?

An additional question: How much torque does the clutch manage?

What I have learned from earlier cars is that it is not HP that kills gearboxes or clutches, it is torque/Nm, especially in low revs....
This map gives the higher torque at higher revs, so in my knowledge it is ”a little bit” safer...

You are more than welcome to correct me if I am wrong. And thanks so far for all your info![emoji2]

  5. Im running mine nd0 at 500Nm (diesel engine so higher load then it would be on a petrol)
And im running a megame rs250 dmf+pressure plate + friction plate.
The rs250 clutch is reporter to handle 500~550Nm on meganes. I dont know for the gt220.
Dont forget. Renault sport gearboxes are first tested on diesel engines (higher load for same torque as the torue spike in one cycle are higher) and the nd0 was even tested in a van before being fittet to the megane2
I havent heard of single broken nd0 or pk4 geaebox.

  6. Oh that’s good news! [emoji4]
The GT220 has the same clutch as RS265. [emoji2]

Thanks a lot for the info! [emoji4]

    Thanks MilosB
    Are you running a 250 gearbox in a 225/r26 ???

When i bought my 225 it was jumping out of 6th gear, not really a failure but changed the box as the replace part was s silly price.

  8. Nono. Im running the stock nd0 gerbox (i run a 1.9dci and it came with exact gearbox as the 225  )

Only the clutch/dmf is from the 250

    Is that 4th gear ???

  12. Yes it is.
Just in the midlle of shoot peening and cryo treathment of gears. Will see how much will hold after this.Defenetly turning the boost to 2bar+ to try

  13. Do you have a power/torque graph ?
Also max torque you have could be higher as a lot of dynos spinn up to fast to capture the high load situation that can happen on the car.

(I want to say the torque could be higher if the engine cant avelerate then when it acelerates though the revs)
