Is this actually worth it for the £3 plus the cost of a dongle? I'd quite fancy being able to read my error codes I do admit..

    What dongle are people using?

Crikey that's cheap. No issues with the dongle?

  3. None for me but some of the reviews suggest issues....... for 3.40 I guess build and quality control is pretty much non-existent but still worth a punt

  4. I have a very similar dongle, the only problem with them is that the refresh rate is that great so if your checking things while driving there can be a delay in what ever you are measuring. I've Seen some at near 150 quid, and those have a much faster refresh/communication rate. But for fault codes etc the cheaper dongle is fine.

I wonder if a wifi dongle is better / quicker?

  6. U need a wifi dongle to use with a iPhone as the Bluetooth ones don't work properly, but they are fine with android I believe

I've got android, was just wondering if a wifi would update quicker than a BT. (Maybe it's irrelevant for sub £10 anyway..).

  8. It is quiker, not shure if it is worth it. I got a wifi and used it on my iphone on rev app

  9. You can't use a WiFi dongle with android unless the phone is routed and likewise you can't use a Bluetooth dongle with an iPhone unless it's been jailbroken.

  10. Mmm nope i used it with ios 8.1, no jailbrake

  11. A Bluetooth OBD reader? Maybe they have changed something in the latest iOS but Google will confirm my post is (or was) accurate.

  12. No a wifi obd reader on ios

  13. How long these normally take to come from amazon they quoted upto 4 week delivery

  14. I'm sure my one came in a week, all depends on who the seller is tho

  15. Ok cool, so is it a accurate way of timing a 0-60 and 0-100 time ?

  16. Guys .... I'm not up to date with this stuff! If I've got an android do I download the torque pro app then by a cheap bluetooth dongle?

  17. thats what im doing

  18. I would take the 0-60 etc with a pinch of salt. The dongle/app is good for looking at basic stuff i.e diagnostics/fault codes and a handful of random stuff boost pressure/water temp etc. i bought the cheapo ebay one and hooked it up to my galaxy s4

  19. Well worth the money! I have Torque Pro on my Android headunit screen and connected with a usb dongle. Works a treat

  20. Sounds interesting you got a pick? What headunit is it?

  21. It's just a Chinese Android 4.1 headunit off eBay. Really pleased with it though, I'll try and remember to go on my pc later and put a pic on for you.

Does anyone bother with the Renault plug in that's available, or is the basic code reading etc more than enough to diagnose issues?

  26. Thats cleaver... I like that. Looks almost GTR style lol

  27. Cheers. It is pretty cool. Nice to have the satnav etc on there as well

  28. Is the Renault plugin worth the £4? Or is the free lite version enough?

  29. Worth it if you get the oil temps to work... Mina never has

  30. That's the reason I wanted it.....oh well

  31. Ive been using the hh obd bluetooth device, combined with an app called dashcommand for over a year. It can read and delete error codes. And tell u everything u would ever want to know about the engines performance. As for quality it gave the exact figures rs tuning gave me on hp n torq. It has a lot of options for the display if your lookin to sink it to a third screen on your car for show.
