Ive used it a bit. All seemed to work ok for me although i didnt try out every function i was only really looking at boost and IAT
I use the Pro, I don't mind paying for something I think has been worthwhile and it's not a huge amout of money really.
I was talking about this with a friend at work. Can you leave the OBD dongle thingy in place all the time and close the panel I mean?
Would this work? http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_t...XOBD+bl&_nkw=obd+bluetooth&_sacat=0&_from=R40 Any other good suggestions? Smaller the better.
Just a warning, the cheaper ELM's do not have a very good refresh rate so some of the dials in Torque pro will be slow to update, and not give you real time (ish) info.
I think that is a OBD over bluetooth problem, not just limited to ELM. There is a wireless version on Kickstarter, but it's pretty pricey!
Got my Bluetooth OBD II dongle through the post yesterday and downloaded the Torque app onto my Nexus 7 tablet. Biggest pain in the ar$e was getting the cover off to get access to the port!!! Once I'd plugged it in though, lights came on and paired up with the tablet no problem. Had a bit of a play about with it, clever how it picks up the revs and boost etc. Will need to sit down and play with it a bit more but bearing in mind my Nexus sits redundant most of the time now, it's handy. Plus it did show that at some point cylinder 2 had misfired so cleared that error and can keep an eye on that in future.
How do you set the boost up on this thing. Mine always shows a negative reading. Is there a way of calibrating it?
Negative is expected, nothing to worry about. There is an explanation on the forum somewhere but I can't find it now.
Oil temp gauge Hi, in general it is working ok, but I'm wondering if anyone is able to get the oil temperature gauge working?? Btw; there is an app for iPhone: Dashcommand
Yes but for cheap ELM 327 obd scanner you need to jailbreak your device and add roqybt for around £3-£5. i've done a video on how to use a cheap obd with harrys lap timer. BTW harrys laptimer for both iOS and android is a fantastic app You do the same for obd but obviously you would use your scanning software such as dash command
Ordered an ELM327 WIFI adapter for my car, got DashCommand on my iphone. Looks half decent. Will report back if/how well it works when it arrives.
Might get one of these for myself. Would be interested on your thoughts of the DashCommand app and how well it works with the wifi adapter when you get it. Looks pretty good though, so hopefully it works well. Thanks.
