I have 2014 Megane RS 265, it only has 24000km, I got told that timing belt should be changed every 4 years, which means I should do it during this year but I feel a bit sceptical because it has very low kms
All my previous cars were 100k, there was no time limit, this a first car I own that has it, a big wierd
Strange because like mike said, rubber does have a life span, time/heat/even sunlight deteriorates rubber.
I have never heard of any car having no time limit, think you are getting confused, or have always had cars with chain belts, but even they have a life span
I don’t know but Renault Australia recommends changing it every 4 years, it seems a bit too soon, I think no other manufacturers do it at 4 year intervals
Have you cross referenced the interval of timing belt changes on other cars between U.K. and oz. Maybe the higher temps over there may cause the belts to perish quicker than over here? Just a thought
