Timing belt change

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Bossko, Sep 26, 2015.

  1. Hi, I'm in the process of buying a rs 250. The garage I'm buying it from is VW garage and is part of a five branch chain and houses a lot of new VW's so it not a small outfit. Now part of the purchasing deal was they will replace cam belt as it is a 2010 car with 53k on the clock. I was just wondering if they will be able to do the job correctly or can it only be done by Renault specialist due to timing tools needed.

    Cheers

  2. Any decent mechanic can change the belt, if the need timing tools they will manage to get them no problem I wouldn't worry about it.
