Going to get my timing belt with all the trimmings done and clutch Emailed a few garages on here but no reply yet how much would one be looking at for these nearly bought the parts myself from renaultpartsdirect but probably won't save much Thought roughly around 1k
Sounds about right for it all in, I can't remember what my clutch/flywheel change cost me, Would have to look back through my invoices but it was done at the same time as some other work
Cheers Jamie Not too bad, think I got a wee little leak from the slave cylinder was having a look tonight and noticed that the undertray had a bit of oil on and traced it to that;nothing too bad but might As well kill two birds with one stone
Well mines on 62k im doing it as I'm having my belt done so getting the big ones out way as I'll probably have her for a few years yet Longest car I've ever had and I've had alot haha reason been I never ever see one on the road
Mines done exactly the same mileage Jamie. Going in at diamond end of the month for all the belts done. Are you getting the clutch done because its on its way out or just piece of mind?
I'm wanting these doing too and was thinking around that price too. Let me know if you get a price back from anyone please
Jack I'm doing for both reasons really piece of mind and once it's done it's done no big jobs (touch wood) and also not happy with seeing the leak Jonny yes I'll let you know mate
Looking at more like £1400 Clutch, DMF, slave is about £900 and belts will be between £400-£550 depending on if you want the dephaser doing.
I was put onto a Renault Tech from a member on here and he's just quoted me £210 labour for cambelt/aux belt and water pump change on my Meg 225. He gets staff discount on parts too which I'm just waiting on prices. He charges £35 an hour and it's a 6 hour job. He's located in Manchester if anyone wants his number. He he does all the work at weekends at the dealership. Cheers
Depends where you are but these guys do loads of meggys Www.birchdown.co.uk Just had belts/water pump done on mine
Timing and accessory belt is £599 at a Renault main dealer - Not the 6 year service just the belts themselves. I had a new clutch and slave cylinder changed at Renaultsport Wimbledon for around £1200 but mostly covered by warranty
Jesus thats pretty pricey, I was sub 1k for my Clutch/Slave and SMF including labour. Thats from a RS specialist as well....
Paul at rst is doing mine next month, belt service and a map can't remember exactly how much he quoted me around £1100 +vat
On the 6yr timing belt change what else should be done? I've seen people mention various items,,,,, just been quoted 525 inl vat but I only said about timing belt so wondered if I should get other things done at the same time.
Christ, this is starting to sound expensive, don't want to fork out unless it's necessary. Thanks for the replies,,,,
Dephaser isn't a must change item, however it would be pretty annoying if it starting rattling its tits off after you had forked out for the rest of it to be done
They offered me a new or reconditioned clutch and I opted for a new one, I called 8 garages before for prices and the cheapest for just the slave cylinder was £800, not sure what the SMF is?
For anyone that is debating what to do, do it all. on my r26 my water pump died as I drove it into Renault for the cambelt service!
Agreed. My 225 trophy is booked in with the lad I mentioned above for Timing & Aux belt kits, water pump kit, coolent change, oil, filter & plugs.
I'd presume he means supply and fit belt kit/aux kit, but doesn't inc an actual service for the price
