Thinking of selling - need advice

  1. I have the R26 Lux and it's the cars time to go... Now there are a couple of paint imperfections, namely rust! Do I get it painted and ask for a higher price or just get rid at a lower price? Part of me just wants to get rid although this will attract much haggling that I can't be bothered with. If I do it up the idiots who come won't have much to whinge about - saving me time arguing with them.

  2. Rust ! Wouldn't that be covered by the 12 year anti corrosion warranty by Renault ??

  3. What's the mileage ? Any pics ? Just look on Autotrader to get an idea of what you can get and stick to it.

  4. Depends on where the rust is and how bad. If you don't want to repair it I would at least take it to a couple of reputable body shops for estimates and then make it clear in the ad that's how much you've dropped it by. But people will still haggle over it as its a job for them to do.

  5. Renaults don't generally rust so I'd be walking away from a R26 that had rust tbh.

Better to get it done than raise the issue come sale time imho. If it's not that bad, what are you looking at? Couple hundred quid? Buyers will haggle more than that off, that's if they even come to look at it.

  6. It's just on the rear arches above the centre of the wheels. Mileage is 93k and it's been used as a motorway hack. Going to get it booked in to a body shop and get it sorted. Cheers for the advice.
