Thermostat change 225

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Ashley, Nov 8, 2017.

  1. I'm going to be replacing the thermostat on my 225 is it just the 3 bolts holding the front housing on remove the old stat put new one in make sure it’s seated properly
Bolt housing back on remove bleed screw

Top up coolant until a constant stream is coming out of the bleed hole then tighten bleed screw

With coolant cap off start engine let car get upto temp with heater on hot
Topping up coolant then once upto temp screw coolant cap back on let idle check levels

I’m not wanting to do a complete flush so didn’t know weather I had to remove the heater matrix bleed screw aswell as I’m only replacing the stat

Coolant was changed 2 years ago

Thanks in advance to any pointers or tips guys
