How you get on Mozzer? Ive struggled this week managed 140kg decline bench and 12 incline then press was 45 max Going to go for the 65s first set next week though
Cheers for the advice mate. I always aim to lift with good form, and would rather use less weight but with proper form, than swing big weights about that I can't really control but think make me look good like some in my gym. I struggle with biceps because I always get massive forearm pain as soon as I start lifting more than say 35kgs on a barbell. I have a strong grip and dont struggle with deadlifts etc, so don't think its forearm strength. It just hurts a lot down the outside of my forearms.
No probs mate any advice il always help my best mates a PT I was exactly the same with bicepts Two things id recommend 1. get your hands on some scaffolding bar and some bar clamps the ones with big star wheel on so you can put them on the scaff bar and then can safely put weights on. This opens your palms flat when curling stopping the forearm pain 2 they sell grips that fit over traditional bar or dumbells widening the grip therefore openin your palms again Another way is using a bar like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/2712...ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=83&ff19=0 Use a shoulder wide grip for 10reps then immediately after close grip for 10reps It hits the inside and outside of the two bicept tendons and helps with the forearm pain which tends to be the bicept muscles not being equally strong
Had a go with 65kg couldn't push it so dropped to 60 ! That seems to be my limit at the moment , managed 2 sets of 5 being the last 2 reps near killed me lol
Sweet mate ul get the 65 next time! its a bloody heavy weight even 60kg and dumbells are much better than benching
Yeah I'm not as ripped as most but I have the build ! Finding it hard to motivate myself at the minute ill last week done my shoulder the week before !
I used to get injured all the time but dropped my weight by about 20% and go for form rather than ego weights although to some 65kg will sound like ego weights but I tend to do a heavy week from single rep to 4 reps on real heavy then say every 4th week high repetition sets all week then most weeks form with reasonable weight Ive been struggling to get back into it too mate had a bad car crash last year and put me out for 9 months and been training for 6 or so years now But just keep telling yourself to do it and you can its mind over matter I always say to my self ... shits hard but nothings impossible It works lol
Just joined up to a gym again, it has been a fair few years since i've been. My plan is to lose the stone and half / two stone i have put on since quitting smoking and tone up a bit in the process.
Just gone back to the gym after nearly a month off with manflu then gastro. Felt like a complete weakling. Hoping the strength will come back quickly. Hasn't been all bad though. A week of the squits means I've lost nearly a stone!
Strength starting to come back nicely. Still struggling with chest press but up to 160kg on squats now. Would love to reach 200 by xmas but don't think the rest of my body is strong enough!
To old and never at home now Days when I was rowing the winter circuits were around 15tons in a evening
