  1. Hi guys

i have been doing a major suspension overhaul and discovered my swivel bearings are fduked so i want to replace them, i have found the lower bearings for sale but nothing about the top ones anywhere. i have seen people on various forums saying they dont wear, is this true? if so how? i havent had the bearings out yet so have yet to see for myself.

    thanks

  2. The design of the lower bearings is why they fail.
The top bearings are completely different in design and hence don't fail.

Only do the bottom ones unless you are certain the tops are knackered (which they won't be).

  3. Lower bearing is the same type as you'd find on the tee axle supporting the hub. Can take massive radial loads as well as axial.

The lower bearing is an open cup design with needle rollers positioned axially. The OE cup bearing isn't even caged and the needles are held in position by a rolled lip at the top.
