I bought a pair of swivel hubs off eBay to refurb and fit to my car. One was particularly rusty, to the point where I had to cut the swivel bearing off the inner race/turret. Having got the turret out would you avoid reusing this?
Someone makes new ones of those, and they aren't that much - Mark something at Diamond Motors I think - it's what I would suggest (and should've done).
I didn't re-use mine and mine were no where near as bad as that. I stuck some of Mick from Diamond motors ones in mine.
Do you have a contact number for mick or do you call Diamond motors ands ask for mick? I am after some and been quoted £165 each from an engineering firm local to me. i need to refurb my swivel bearing as they are shot and noisy at low speed, steering is imprecise and sticky/notchy
https://diamondmotors.co.uk/contact/ His number is on there. He can sort you out with inserts and bearings.
Thanks for this will give a call, i have the bearing already, just need the inserts really. Sorry to hijake the thread also.
