250 Suspension refresh

  1. Wanted to get some thoughts on a suspension refresh for the RS250/265s.

I purchase the car with 27k on the clock. Now my memory certainly isn't perfect but the car is now at 43k miles and still feels rather fresh and nimble.

I'm thinking of a suspension refresh at or close to 60k based on the parts that Ads@Renault quoted me for :

    Front shocks £103.25 each
Lower arms come with bushes and ball joints £150 each
    Anti rotation links £60 each
    Drop links £18 each
    Rear shocks £50.50

From what I've discussed with a few friends, the parts are a steal at that price so will contact Mark@Boldsover about labour for this refresh in the near future (feel free to drop a message here Mark!).

Has anyone done a suspension refresh at this point?

At a guess, short of driving a brand new Cup, there's no straightforward way of determining wear and when to do the refresh?

And here comes the loaded question of all - how do RS250/265 owners feel about the suspension after a while (e.g. putting 20k or 40k miles from when they got the car) ?

  2. I have done 3k so far, no changes.

  3. If I were refreshing the suspension I'd certainly consider the hub ball joints as well. Have a look into track rod ends and tie rods too, made my 172 much sharper
