    Hi gents.

I come to you hat in hand humbly asking for advice.

    Basically-

i’m worried about my suspension/steering assembly bushings/links and such.

i haven’t been able to fault find (probably due to incompetence) as to what the problem may be.
(i have already done drop links on both sides)

    Symptoms:
    - loud audible clunking/knocking when encountering any bumps
    - steering drifting - not major amounts (at high and low speed)
    - pulling either way under acceleration and braking
    - cornering in general feels a bit crap

I hope that’s something to go on. i am prepared for the eventuality that it could be a multitude of issues.

once i get it resolved, ill reply to this thread with the professional diagnosis (e.g. how many components i replaced till it went away)

    thanks!

  2. Lots of posts on this and other forums regarding RS250/265/275 front suspension issues
    eg https://rsmegane.com/threads/front-end-refresh.12664/

Typically, front suspension problems relate to bottom and top (less common) pivot ball joints worn - you can press new ones in, or buy complete new assembly (but expensive)

Also if car has done a few miles (or hard life) best to replace the trailing arm complete with ball joint and importantly, new rubber bushes where it bolts onto subframe. Some folks press new after market bushes into old arm, but not the best approach - better to buy knew ones even if not genuine Renault. Be aware that you can get steel or aluminium arms.

And don't forget 1)steering rods- both inner and outer, 2)top mounts and/or strut/damper for complete refresh. Remember dampers don't last forever.

If you are doing it yourself you can do one at a time and see improvement/gains eg outer steering rods, then bottom/top pivot, then arm and inner steering rod, etc. If paying for others to do it probably best to do complete refresh all at once.

    Good luck
