Not had the car a week yet but encountered my first little niggle. Before I go running back to Renault and inevitably have to leave it with them to replicate the issue, I thought I'd ask here first. I have the Radio+ and Tomtom system. The stereo and tomtom switch off and the on again randomly not long after start up. Once I start the car my phone connects and music plays via the USB stick. Tomtom display is up and running. Then within a couple of minutes the screen and stereo switch off then on again (the clock shows for a few seconds). This has happened the last couple of days, but today it did it 3 times on the 15 minute commute to work. I did update the tomtom over the weekend via the sd card. Everything seems to work fine after a while on longer journeys. Any ideas? Loving everything else about it at the minute.
The car really needs CLIP time as it could be a network or power related issue. It could also be a corruption issue on the SD Card
I did a bit of reading last night on the tomtom website and apparently there is a known problem with the updated map on the carminat system which causes a boot loop. There is a file within the map folder that they suggest deleting which will fix the problem. Driving to work this morning everything was fine so I'll leave it a few days and see what happens before I try anything else. Thanks for your advice. I think I live just around the corner from your place. Pass it every day and have a nosey to see what cars you've got in!
Yeah, it does sound like the TomTom is throwing a wobbler which is forcing a reboot. We see it a lot with the eBay SD Cards hence the question on its authenticity. If it's new though you shouldn't have to do any messing... Bang it back to the dealer. Pop in if you fancy. We have had all sorts in today: Mk1 16v, Clio V6, Megane I 1.6 16v lol
