they the same diameter than karl?

  2. Yeah same diameter

  3. the diameter isn't too big, but bought the wife a MK5 Golf GTI '08 and that steering wheel feels so much better! I also think it's just because it's a bit fatter, just like the 197/200 one is. Definitely gonna look in a upgrade like that!

Shame its not a tad small would be perfect then

  5. It feels 100% better than the R26 one.

Plus the yellow stitching matches the car lol

  6. I thought it was smaller u got any pics ? Back to the drawing board I think

  7. Glad my old wheel has gone in an awesome car

    Get some pictures up mate!

Crappy iphone photo, it feels smaller bit that will be due to the thickness

  9. You selling your 197 wheel Karl?

  10. Don't have a 197 one, only R26 one.

  11. I thought you said you had a 197 wheel for some reason lol. No worries.

  12. Looks good does look smaller though lol isn't it a 200 one if it's yellow and 197 ones are red

  13. Yep. 197 = Red, 200 = Yellow.

I want to change my wheel as the stitching has worn away and come out. Really bugs me. That's not a bad price for that one on eBay posted earlier.

  15. That's one of th reasons for wanting to change mine

  16. If they are of the same outside diameter and the Clio wheel is thicker, than the actual (mid-line) diameter is smaller.

Or in other words, if you were to make the R26 wheel thicker, it would increase its outside diameter.

I owned Clio and now I have the R26 - there's has to be a couple of millimeters difference in the mid-line diameter between the two...

  17. I had a 197 wheel in my 225. It's a direct swap, like it was made for it, and it's easy to fit!

    A rough guide without pictures:

    1) Make sure the wheel is upside down
    2) Disconnect battery
    3) Push a small screwdriver into the hole in the bottom of the steering wheel (now on the top and easier to see) to unclip the airbag
    4) Slide the airbag off
    5) Unclip the airbag and cruise control etc.
    6) Use torx bit (T50 if I remember correctly) to remove the steering wheel.

Refitting is the reverse with the new wheel. Just remember that you have put the wheel on upside down and try not to disturb the airbag ring. It's also best to leave the car for a few minutes after disconnecting the battery as you're working with airbags.

It's up to you, but I wouldn't buy a used airbag etc. I'm certainly glad I didn't haha - I can verify the airbag will work if you fit the 197 wheel! Adam will sort you out a cracking deal, just PM him.
