  2. Look at the thread on detailing the sheep, johns got the sabelt wheel with quick release

  3. I can't seem to find anything like that Steve ?

  4. Lol that would be why cheers il go for a look

  5. [h=2][IMG] R26 Tack Car Big detail .. AKA the SHEEP .. full correction with Gtechniq[/h]There you go mate

  6. Looks good but I think I'd rather go for the clio one can keep cruise then and also I'm not a full on track guy

  7. Does his steering wheel still allow him to retain the cruise control buttons?

  8. He's on about making something for it , says its quite easy

  9. I can't see it being that difficult if you're ok with a soldering iron get a wheel with the fast and furious style nos buttons

do you defo need to keep airbag? Ive fitted an OMP wheel to mine and some little push buttons ons a carbon fibre pad to use the cruise control still.

  11. I don't really but don't want to really go the full track car look I just wanted a smaller wheel as the standard is massive

  12. Id love a smaller wheel for mine as well. Ive been looking at the 200's wheel, but i dont fancy paying £200.

  13. The 200 is a yellow stripe at the top the 197 is red that's why I said 197

  14. The first minus point to the Meg when i came to it from my 197 was the steering wheel.

The 197 wheel is smaller, fatter and i'd live to swop mine too.
Wouldn't mind the 200 wheel, quite like the yellow stitching.

  15. I'm looking at having a go at it anyway it can't be that difficult I'll let people know I was sat in mine the other day waiting for something of other can't remember what and I was looking thinking wow this is big lol

  16. I have the 197 wheel. its just a plug and play job.

  17. Aha thats what i was waiting to hear how did you go about gettingbthevairbag in and out ive heard its bot the easiest of jobs

  18. Airbag is beld in by 2 metal clips on the back of the wheel.

Can be a bit of a pain, just finding the right tool to unhook it.

  19. That looks good is the actual wheel bit fatter like mote padded ?

  20. What the 197 one is hard to get out. megane one is easy.

  21. Thats good to know makes my job easier lol in your pic the wheel looks fatter than mine it may not be

  22. The wheel is way more fatter, I have the 200 wheel (yellow stitching) to go on, when I eventually fit it I will take pictures comparing it to the R26 one.

  23. I love the 197/200 wheel! It's much fatter and a bit smaller than the Megane's.

So how do you go about replacing the wheel? Disconnect the battery so the airbag doesn't activate, somehow unclip the airbag and than it's easy with the cruise control/horn connections and the actual wheel mount?

  24. I'm not 100 % sure ATM I think unplug battery leave ten fifteen minutes and then the airbag is hooked on there's a slot on the back to get it out then I think it's just unplug connectors and undo the main nut same as any other gotta find a a cheap wheel and bag first can't afford 300+ for one

  25. It's plug and play, airbag unclips from behind the wheel.

Always a scary moment playing with airbags but should be fine, I normally leave the battery un clipped for about 30 mins.

  26. Could you please measure the diameter so I can get an idea of size difference im just goin on pure aesthetics at the moment

  27. Yeah no problem, hopefully get it done this weekend if the weather is ok!

  28. Cheers mate

  29. I'm warming up to the idea of a Clio steering wheel...

I found that the Clio 197 wheel (the one with red stitching) is part number 7711421172, however it looks like it comes without the airbag and the central part (horn). Does anyone know which part number is the central part?

  30. The airbag has part number: 8200677496

    Cant see them being cheap!

  31. Is it plug and play including airbag and cruise/stereo buttons?

  32. Stereo aren'tart of the wheel there on the column but apart from that I think it's fairly straight forward

the wheels don't come with airbag I think it's about £350 Ish all together brand new maybe more, knowing renault so need to keep an eye out for a breaking one

  33. Speak to Adam, £144 for a wheel and £130 for the airbag, I asked earlier today as it's a mod I quite fancy. Keep your eyes peeled on eBay for a bargain.

  34. So not shy of 300 then im keen if i can find one about half that price lol could maybe stretch a little

  35. Could try a breakers for the airbag and get the wheel brand new off Adam.

  36. Not a bad shout might give that a go

  37. I would have thought not id try but can't afford it either ATM lol

  38. I may have a sabelt 350 steering wheel for sake very soon in suede

  39. Just fitted mine today, the 197/200 wheel is exactly the same size as the R26 one just a bit fatter.

Plus it also looks and feels better
