Steering squib/clock/ring thing

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by Mark_RS, Jun 18, 2017.

  1. I fitted a nice new Momo 78 wheel yesterday and all went well with the airbag resistors and wiring for the horn. Everything worked as it should but then when I reversed off the drive...crunching sound from behind the column as I spun the wheel left and now the horn is dead!

Took off the boss and checked and it all looks fine but I'm wondering if the airbag ring thing only goes so many turns and I've snapped the wiring or something? Any ideas and can I buy just the ring thing without having to buy stalks too?

  2. Check the horn wiring isn't touching on anything metal then check the fuse

  3. Hi Sunny,

Where is the fuse for the horn on a mk3? The wiring looks ok to me, I just soldered the momo wires onto the stock loom socket. I did try just touching both wires together and still no horn.
