250 Steering angle fault

  1. I posted a thread in 'suspension, brakes etc' regarding an issue with an abs light coming on/off on full lock. I had it on a diagnostic machine and it threw up 'speed sensor fault' on both front wheels and one at the rear. It also threw up a 'steering angle fault'.

The chap at the garage said it will be more likely the steering fault causing the speed sensor faults and not faulty abs sensors? Does anyone have any idea on what to do with the steering fault issue? Cheers

  2. I had this on my clio Trophy 182, Not sure what its like on the Meg. On my Clio, it was a steering wheel off job, and then there is a something under there you have to turn, until it aligns

  3. From memory you have to recalibrate the angle sensor, you will need either clip or a good obd reader (not a cheap 20quid one).
On mine when it started to throw up the angle error it was the beginning of the end for my squib/clockspring/rotary switch

  4. That sounds expensive? Taking it to a garage that has a decent bosch computer so hoping to get to the bottom of it

  5. Just noticed you've got a mk3 not a mk2. Im not sure if the mk 3's have the same problem with the clockspring/ squib as the mk2's do.
But it.can be identified on the mk2's as a scratching/ scrapping noise as you turn the steering wheel from lock to lock
