Evening Chaps Today when I went to start my car it decided it didn't want to work.. When I press the Start Button I can hear the fuel pump activating but the starter motor doesn't engage, New Starter Motor Time?
So a bit of an update on this one. I've cleaned up the earth's, checked the battery fuses and these are all fine but the car still refuses to start. I get a message on the dash when I remove the card "steering not locked" but it doesn't come up "steering locked" when trying to start which some people seem to get! Any other ideas what this could be? I'm at my wits end
One test you can do to completely eliminate the earth, is put a jump lead on the engine to the chassis. If it doesn't fire then, its not an earth issue. Just make sure the jump lead makes good contact to metal at both ends.
