Just wondering what insurance companies you guys are using/recommend for those running a stage 2 setup - hybrid + forged + map etc. I've used flux in the past but promised myself I wouldn't use them again. It was a while ago so maybe they are better now... Either way just after a few decent companies to try. Currently I'm with admiral but they won't do mods - boo
I'm not sure what stage I'm on, but have similar mods to what you've listed. I use flux with no hassle now. I promised myself the same 2 years ago when they gave me bad service getting a quote but at the end of the day money talks and a year later I was with them (second now).
They were OK when I was with them. Brebtacre have been amazing. I'm insured with highway through them and I couldn't have asked for better claim handling.
They used to be, I was with them a couple years ago as well but by all accounts they have gone downhill from various reports from people on several forums. Greenlight are pretty good as well
Cheers guys that gives me a load of options. I heard someone mention Brentacre the other day, just couldn't for the life of me recall their name. What about remaps? Just tell them it's been mapped or do you have to be specific..eg. Stage 1, 2 ? Just wondering
Don't tell them "Stages", They are a load of BS anyway. List all your stuff individually if you want proper cover.
I've just insured with Brentacre today. All mods are covered on a like-for-like basis, and any further cosmetic mods can be added for free which will save a lot of hassle as I have a few more things to do next year. They don't ask for stage this or that, just if it's been mapped, BHP and a list of mods.
I used to be with Green Light they were spot on and I had everything listed individually so there was nothing that could trip me up should anything have happened. Really good to deal with and seemed very knowledgable about the car too which is always a big help confidence wise when your picking an insurer.
All of these companies are brokers not insurers people. its more than likely all the 'shit' brokers insure your car with the same insurer that the good one did, they simply broke for best pricing based on their own commision rates
They will only need to know the percentage in BHP increase and maybe a list of modified parts you've changed
Got one quote from Brentacre today, just over 500 quid and that's based on bhp which is pretty good - I've got a few q's for them now as I was half asleep when they called . Greenlight basically just said they can't beat that quote. Going to give Sky a try too
Give A Plan Thatcham a call too. I renewed with them today after calling Greenlight and Brentacre, neither of whom could match A Plan
