  1. What do you guys use? Standard Renault plugs or something better?

When at RStuning getting my map I'm sure Paul said to try iridium spark plugs.
Does anyone use these? If so do you know the part number and best place to get them?

    Cheers Daryl

  2. I use NGK laser platinum, think there about 30quid off Ebay.

  3. I went to Renault. They charged me £140 for that pleasure. I didn't notice any difference.

  4. To Meg 250 use Denso IK24 (tested in 380PS Megane) - they are much cheaper than NGK from Renault

  5. Denso plugs are £1.70 each, so yes they are a cheap plug, I will stick with the NGK plugs if only for my own peace of mind.

  6. How much???? think I will keep paying 30 quid for the NGK and change them myself.

  7. Where You have find Denso IK24 for £1.70 each?? Are You lose Your mind?

NGK from Renault for £140 is too much... because it's normal iridium spark plug with heat grade 8

French users know what is good for Renault and buys Denso: http://www.megane-rs-online.com/allumage/164-bougies-froides-iridium-042511531246.html

  8. Look, this is spark plug for Megane 250 (produced by NGK but You can't buy it without Renault service):

It's not the same plug as for Megane 225/230  In Megane 225/235 You have sparks with heat grade "7"

  9. I think he may have gotten confused with normal denso plugs not the iridium IK24 types cheapest i've seen is £8 something each, although if he does know somewhere to buy them at that price i'd be all over it!

  10. LMAO, just did a search for plugs for my 225 when I did them, just thought the 250 used the same plug that's all, I still think 140 quid for plugs is taking the pee, don't some people get upset over something so simple. lol

  11. Anyone know what torque they need to be at?

  12. Yeah £140 for spark plugs is massively taking the piss tbh unless it comes with a free service?! I'm a little surprised that the 250/265 uses a grade colder plug though, its got me thinking should i be using a grade 8 plug on my R26 as its remapped?

  13. 99% sure its 28nm

  14. That would be fitted at that price, as i got quoted around that figure for mine

  15. Yes, it was fitted.

  16. I got plugs off ads £42 for a set

  17. What's the actual part number for the NGK plugs? Does anyone know?

  18. One page back and see it on photo

    type: IFR7X-8Gpart No. 8201001947

  19. Thank you!

  20. Yeah but are they the same for both 225/R26 and 250/265?

  21. No.

    For 225/230: PFR7Z-TG / 82 00 314 928

  22. Are these iridium or platinum?

  23. Hi guys im trying to get 300bhp out of my megane sport 225 what would b the fuel injectors to upgrade to?

630cc but this is a thread on spark plugs...

  25. Back on topic. How often do you guys replace your spark plugs.

  26. I have changed after 35k. Renault says 37,5k.

  27. So what happened of the days when spark plugs were changed on every service. Is it because of engine efficiency nowdays.

  28. Better designed plugs with more advanced materials used.

  29. Do the denso's have a preset gap? Or does it need setting?

  30. Old thread but it saves starting a new one.

Ive just bought what I thought was 4 spark plugs of eBay but it's just 1! £30?! Wtf?!

Renault Wolverhampton or RPD will probably do them a lot cheaper, IIRC i was £40 a set of plugs from Renault Wolves

  32. Ouch that's what I paid for 4

  33. Exactly what I thought. The picture had 4 for sale but in the tile does say "spark plug" my bad. I've messaged the seller hoping I can get a refund. Doubtful.

  34. I know what you mean nearly been caught out a few times on other things they shouldn't show pictures containing more than what your getting

  35. Got a refund, thankfully.

Where res are people getting genuine spark plugs for £30?

  36. I looked I paid £37 for ik24 denso iridium
