   Had the number plate light out and noticed on one side there was a spare plug hanging around.

   I don't think that the Megane 2 ever had one. My guess is keyless something.

   Don't you have automated door lock from the key? If you do, then there is no need I think for anything else as the keyless system is on the CAN Bus.
